Miramax Films decided for not releasing The Crow: Salvation starring Eric Mabius, Kirsten Dunst, and Fred Ward nationwide to theaters and their lack of promotion for the test run in Spokane, WA.
Miramax sent the film to Spokane, WA to one theater for a one week test run to see if it warrants a nationwide release. Miramax Films spent very little in advertising only a dinky newspaper ad, zero radio and TV ads. Miramax programmed the movie for failure and sent it up to Spokane to die.
Miramax films is one of the prime R-rated film distributors. Thus, they could potentially be very susceptible to political pressure. Crow fans
should not allow Miramax to throw away The Crow: Salvation for the sake of avoiding congressional coercion.
The pencilled in date for the release of The Crow: Salvation and The Crow DVD Box Set is set for March 20, 2001, the reason for that date is to give them plenty of time of to do a good job of promoting the film and to make sure the box set is really good and loaded with features instead of doing it half-ass. The other reason is to ensure The Crow has no competition from other films being released to VHS and DVD. There will be a 16 page booklet done for the box set, probably containing various pictures and letters from the people behind The Crow. The Box Set will currently be available only on DVD unless there is enough of a demand for a VHS Box Set. The current market has majority of the box sets being sold on DVD as people convert their collections from VHS to DVD.

A forth Crow?
MTV has talked about DMX signing on to star in the fourth Crow film, The Crow: Lazarus. About a rapper who comes back from the dead. (Even though we still don't have a release date for Salvation!)
